SARAH SHEY was raised on a farm in Iowa. Her childhood was filled with collies, cats and cows. The family's horses only took her father seriously. Shey's work has appeared in several publications, including the New York TimesThis Old House Magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and in anthologies, including The Cassoulet Saved Our Marriage: True Tales of Food, Family and How We Learn To Eat (Roost 2013)and several published by Seal Press

Sky All Around (Trafford 2005)and Blue Lake Days (Trafford 2006), two children’s books, were inspired by the lakes and farms of her childhood.
